Top Things to Do This Summer at Lake Norman

Living near the lake means quite a bit of time in and near the water, and the Lake Norman community comes alive in summer with activities at the waterfront and all around the area. Whether you’re looking for an entertaining summer festival, want to enjoy some water-based fun or want to get out in the community, here are some of the best ways to do so this summer.

Attend the Lake Norman Summer Concert Series
Every summer the D9 Brewing in Cornelius hosts the Lake Norman Summer Concert Series. This free outdoor concert features many local bands and performers, and you can enjoy food trucks on sight when you visit. The series opens in April and runs through October. Each night will bring a different menu of food trucks and performers.

Take a Cruise
See Lake Norman from the other side – on the water – with a cruise aboard the Lady of the Lake. This 93-foot yacht has a full bar on each deck and open upper balcony. On your cruise, enjoy a four-course chef prepared meal. The Lady of the Lake heads out from Queens Landing, where you can also take out a party cruise or sightseeing tour.

Rent a Jet Ski
Summer is the perfect time to enjoy time on the water. Renting a jet ski lets you enjoy water-based fun to the fullest. Don your life jacket, then head out on Lake Norman to test your skill. Consider downloading the Wake App , which features a Lake Norman GPS system, so you can stay on top of your location while enjoying your time on the water.

Go Fishing
Peak fishing in Lake Norman happens in early summer. The warmer, but not yet hot, temperatures send fish to the surface, and you can catch everything from large-mouth bass to large catfish. Grab a photo, then release your catch back into the water to promote local conservation efforts.

Summer fun is easy to find in Lake Norman. No matter what you enjoy doing, you will find something to keep you entertained and outdoors during the warm season.
